CASE STUDY: Fine-Art Photographer
Tasha O'Neill Photography
Fall, 2003
Part 2
The home page, photographer biography, ordering pages and "gallery" pages all use a similar layout and look, with a textured background of the same type as the Card Set Pages. They were designed to be calm, uncluttered, and to complement but not compete with the photography itself.
Home page
The photographer was encouraged to use very descriptive text on the home page to help drive Search Engines to the site. It has worked quite well, and her site is #4 on a Google search for "butterflies photography cards"
Gallery overview
Clicking on each image calls up a dynamic page, which selects the image's details based on its name.
Each group of images carries a carefully-written description, boosting the likelihood of a Search Engine placing Tasha's images near the top of the search results.
Gallery page sample
This page has called up the larger image view and it's description to create a page from which the item may be ordered via Pay Pal.
